Our Philosophy

At Higher Learning Childcare Academy, we believe that every young person deserves to be encouraged to explore the world around them, express themselves through positive outlets, create freely, interact positively with others, and gain knowledge of concepts through first-hand experiences. We also believe that our students should establish solutions to problems and interpersonal conflicts. Our mission is to empower all the children entrusted to our care to reach their fullest potential socially, emotionally, and intellectually.

Our Programs

We offer a wide range of programs designed to enrich and enhance the cognitive, language, social, emotional, physical, and creative development of young children. Our programs are carefully designed to provide experiences that stimulate curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking. Some of the programs we offer include:

• Summer programs that focus on Outdoor Adventures, Science, and Technology

Our teachers serve as positive role models who maintain safe spaces for young people to grow. Our Director

Our director, Barbara Borders, is a successful businesswoman, leadership coach, and educator who has been recognized throughout the region for her expertise in early childhood education and her commitment to advancing small businesses. With over 27 years of experience in the childcare industry, Barbara has a deep understanding of what it takes to create a nurturing environment where children can thrive. She is a certified Leadership Coach and a proud graduate of Western Carolina University.
