We are a family-owned and operated business, founded in 2011 by Alex Murphy and his father, Don Murphy. Our team has grown to include seven passionate marketers who are dedicated to delivering effective content that drives real brand growth and ROI.

Our Story

Alex Murphy, our CEO and Narrative Strategist, graduated from the Radio-TV-Film program at the University of Texas. His passion for visual storytelling and sharing the vision of entrepreneurs led him to ask his father for capital to start his own video production company. Don Murphy, an experienced manager and entrepreneur, understood the unique challenges faced by small businesspeople and chose to co-found the company with his son.

Sarah Murphy, Alex's wife, joined the team as the Chief Growth Officer. With a background in psychology and media research, she uses analytics and data-driven marketing to craft more effective, targeted content for our clients. Over the years, we have expanded our team to include talented professionals in post-production, animation, graphic design, copywriting, and account management.

Golden Arm Media is located on North Lamar at 183/Anderson Lane in Austin, Texas. Our office is situated on the north side of Building F, which features yellow trim. What's a Golden Arm?

The name "Golden Arm Media" comes from a classic baseball expression. A player with a "Golden Arm" is typically a pitcher who can throw the ball fast and with consistency and precision. As a left-handed pitcher growing up, our CEO Alex Murphy learned valuable skills that have helped him in business, such as focus, strategic thinking, and the ability to execute under pressure. These skills have been instrumental in building our company and helping our clients achieve their marketing goals.
