LM Kohn is an independent, family-owned, hybrid Registered Investment Adviser (RIA) and Broker-Dealer that has been in the industry since 1990. Our firm was founded by a financial advisor who was seeking to build his dream practice that could better serve his clients. Over the past three decades, our advisor base has grown organically through referrals, word of mouth, and other means. LM Kohn was founded by a financial advisor who was unhappy with the Broker-Dealer and insurance company platforms available in 1990. He wanted to build his dream practice, so he created his own Broker-Dealer to do so. Our founder understands the challenges that financial advisors face, and he has built a firm that addresses those challenges, providing advisors with the freedom and flexibility they need to build their dream practices.

SEC SCSD Initiative

LM Kohn is a participant in the SEC's Scaled Compliance Program for Broker-Dealers (SCSD). This initiative is designed to provide smaller Broker-Dealers with regulatory relief, allowing them to focus on their clients and businesses. Our participation in this program demonstrates our commitment to compliance and our dedication to providing our advisors with the best possible services.
