Our History

Established in 1957 by Erleen Janicek, a pioneering woman in the insurance industry, Janicek Insurance Agency began as a one-room office in Smiley, Texas. As the first female agent in South Texas for The Hartford Insurance Company, Mrs. Janicek served the local community's insurance and tax needs for nearly 50 years. Driven by a dedication to client service and community involvement, the agency has continued to thrive under the leadership of her son, Donnie, since 1985. In 1993, the company expanded its reach by acquiring an independent agency in Stockdale, Texas, further solidifying its commitment to providing comprehensive insurance solutions to a broader area. Another strategic expansion transpired in 1995 with the addition of an agency in Nixon, Texas, strengthening Janicek Insurance Agency's presence and service capabilities across the region.
