Our story began in 1975 when Steuart Ligon, DVM, founded Lovingston Veterinary Hospital. For over three decades, he built a successful practice that served as the hub of both large and small animal medicine for the corridors between Charlottesville to Madison Heights, and Scottsville to Afton. His dedication to providing top-notch veterinary care left a lasting impact on the community, and his legacy continues to live on through his daughter, Dr. Jessica Ligon.

Dr. Jessica Ligon, who grew up watching her father practice veterinary healthcare, is now the driving force behind Lovingston Veterinary Hospital. After graduating from vet school in 2012, she has steadily grown her father's legacy into two thriving practices that cater to the expanding population of rural central Virginia. Her love for animals and passion for making a difference in the lives of pets and their human families is evident in the quality of care she provides.
