Preserving Modern Heritage, Celebrating Design
Ann Arbor, Michigan, is a city that boasts a rich architectural history, with some of the most iconic Mid-Century Modern buildings in the Midwest. The city's open, diverse community and its association with the University of Michigan created an atmosphere that fostered creative expression and experimentation. As a result, the city is home to many forward-thinking architects and engineers who were instrumental in the development of the Modernist movement. At A2Modern.org, we are dedicated to celebrating and preserving the legacy of these architects, designers, builders, and homeowners.
Who We Are
In June 2010, a group of homeowners, architects, and enthusiasts came together in Ann Arbor with the goal of raising awareness of and appreciation for mid-century architecture and design. A2Modern was born out of a desire to celebrate the accomplishments of the architects, designers, builders, and homeowners who contributed to the city's rich architectural heritage. Since then, we have expanded our efforts to include exploring the legacy of modern architects such as George B. Brigham, Robert Metcalf, David Osler, and James Livingston.
