At the Maine Mental Health Counselors Association (MEMHCA), we are committed to promoting the professionalism of clinical mental health counselors in the State of Maine. We believe that a mental health professional's primary role is to empower clients to live independently and help them avoid becoming reliant on counseling services. Our mission is to provide ongoing professional development, training, and educational activities for clinical mental health counselors, while serving as a resource of ideas and information relevant to the field.

Our Services

As a professional organization, we offer a wide range of services to support the needs of our members and the community. These services include:

• Assessment, Diagnostic, and Treatment Planning: Our licensed clinical professional counselors (LCPCs) possess the necessary skills and expertise to assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans tailored to individual clients' needs.
• Clinical Supervision and Consultation: We offer clinical supervision and consultation services to ensure that our members stay updated on the latest best practices and evidence-based treatments.
• Psychotherapy and Counseling: Our LCPCs utilize evidence-based, holistic, and collaborative approaches to deliver high-quality psychotherapy and counseling services to individuals, couples, families, and groups.
• Prevention and Intervention: We emphasize prevention and early intervention to address mental health problems, promoting wellness and reducing the risk of mental health issues.
