MPL Construction & Architecture

MPL Construction & Architecture is a design build contractor that has been in the industry since 1972. The company was purchased by Matt Wood and Ethan Wood in 2002. Over the years, we have built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality work and providing exceptional services to our clients. In 2005, we moved into a new office next to our old one, and in 2006, we brought in an in-house architect to manage the design phase of the construction more closely.

Our team is dedicated to providing our clients with exceptional work that includes everything from concept and design to finished product. We take pride in our ability to offer our clients a unique, cost-effective service in the Chattanooga and East Tennessee area. Our services extend to Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee, with most of our projects taking place in Hamilton County, Tennessee.

Our Services

MPL Construction & Architecture offers a variety of services to our clients, including design and construction, steel erection, and in-house architecture. Eighty-five percent of our work is done on the design-build format, and we believe that the majority of available cost savings can be found during the design process. We work closely with the owner to create an efficient design and estimate a budget before construction documents are even created.

We also self-perform portions of the construction, with the largest scope being steel erection. We believe that having the ability to directly control the coordination and timing of the building's structure gives us the control we need to keep projects on time and on budget. Additionally, we have been a Butler builder since the eighties, and we believe that a metal building is often the correct choice for construction, but not always. With our in-house architecture, we help customers meet their construction needs within their budget.

Our Work

MPL Construction & Architecture has completed numerous projects over the years, including manufacturing facilities, educational facilities, religious facilities, office buildings, retail establishments, and warehouse facilities. We have worked with a variety of clients, including Astec Industries, Card Monroe, Heatec, ADM, Boyd Buchanan School, ServePro, Hunter Oil, Lee Smith, Chattanooga Tractor, and The Woodbridge Group.

Our recent projects include the Boyd-Buchanan School Performing Arts Center, which was a brand new 21,490 square foot theatre, lobby, and classroom space for Boyd-Buchanan School. The school will host plays, chapels, and concerts in the new space. We also completed a project for Nichols Fleet Equipment, which involved constructing a new facility for their operations.
