It's All About Your Child

Berlin Community Daycare & Preschool, a not for profit 501(c)(3) organization, was established in 1981. With over three decades of experience in the early childhood education landscape, our commitment to the community's children and families has never wavered. Beginning as a humble provider of care for children aged 2 to 5, we have since expanded to offer a multitude of programs, including before and after school care, 4-year-old kindergarten, 3 and 4-year-old preschool, school-aged summer programs, infant and toddler care, and a comprehensive curriculum for all age groups that includes sign language, Spanish, arts, music, and much more. Our dedication to nurturing and educating the whole child remains at the heart of all we do.

Our Philosophy

At Berlin Community Daycare & Preschool, we believe in the power of play - in creating a nurturing, engaging environment where children are encouraged to flourish socially, emotionally, intellectually, and physically. We do not subscribe to the belief that children learn through workbooks or activity sheets; instead, we are firm advocates of the idea that children learn best through exploration, experimentation, and, of course, play!

We plan our learning opportunities based on the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards, which are the precursors to the Wisconsin Model Academic Standards used in K-12 education. This approach allows our teachers to design specific learning opportunities that align with each child's individual needs, interests, and developmental level, while also leaving room for flexibility and spontaneity.

We believe that strong partnerships between families and teachers are essential in creating the best possible learning experiences for children. Parents are encouraged to visit and participate in their child's learning journey, fostering a sense of community and collaboration.

At the heart of our teaching philosophy is the understanding that every child is unique and learns in their own way. We are committed to creating a learning environment that respects and nurtures each child's individuality, helping them to grow and thrive as confident, capable, and creative individuals.

Our Teachers

Our teachers are the backbone of our organization, a closely knit group of education professionals dedicated to providing the highest quality of care and education to the children in our community. We believe that compassionate, loving caregivers are the key to unlocking a child's full potential - both at home and in our care. Our teachers are caring, dedicated professionals who understand and respect each child's unique personality and learning style.

Our Programs

We are proud to offer a wide range of programs designed to meet the diverse needs and interests of the children in our community. From our infant and toddler care programs to our school-aged summer programs, we strive to create an engaging, supportive learning environment for every child.

  • Infant and Toddler Care: Our infant and toddler care programs are designed to provide the highest quality of care for children aged 6 weeks to 2 years. Our teachers work closely with families to create a nurturing, engaging environment where children can grow and learn at their own pace.
  • Preschool (3- and 4-year-olds): Our preschool programs are designed to prepare children for kindergarten while fostering a love of learning and exploration. We use a play-based curriculum that focuses on the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards, providing children with a well-rounded education that covers all areas of early childhood development.
  • Kindergarten (4-year-olds): Our 4-year-old kindergarten program is designed to provide a smooth transition to elementary school. Our teachers use a curriculum that aligns with the Wisconsin Model Academic Standards, providing children with a solid foundation for their future education.
  • School-Aged Summer Programs: Our summer programs are designed to provide a fun, engaging learning environment for school-aged children. Our teachers plan a variety of activities that incorporate the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards, ensuring that children continue to learn and grow throughout the summer months.

At Berlin Community Daycare & Preschool, we are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and provider. We believe that every child deserves access to high-quality education and care, regardless of their background or individual needs. We are committed to providing a welcoming, inclusive environment for all children and families in our community.
