At Architectural Design Associates, we are more than just a design firm; we are a family of architects, engineers, and design professionals dedicated to creating sustainable, innovative, and functional environments. Formed in the early 1990s, our company is the proud successor of its predecessor firm, Certosimo Associates, P.A., Architects and Planners. We are a team of licensed architects, passionate about both the art of architecture and the science of design efficiency.

Our team consists of dedicated professionals who are experts in their respective fields. Richard S. Jacobs, AIA, our principal, graduated from Syracuse University School of Architecture. He opened Architectural Design Associates in the 1990s as the chief designer. Mr. Jacobs has over 25 years of architectural experience, and his passion for design efficiency and aesthetic appeal has been instrumental in expanding our corporate client base, maintaining our healthcare clients, and sustaining our residential market share.

Frank E. Matthews, AIA, our director, graduated from The New York Institute of Technology. With his many years of experience in corporate design at Certosimo Associates, Mr. Matthews has overseen the design and construction of facilities for numerous Fortune 500 companies throughout the United States and abroad. His expertise in various building systems, including tilt-up concrete construction, precast panel systems, steel or wood framed systems, and his keen eye for detail make him an excellent client liaison for every project type.

Matthew J. Certosimo, RA, remains with our firm on our Board of Directors. Mr. Certosimo spent his earlier years at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP before forming Certosimo Associates, P.A. His wealth of knowledge and experience continues to guide our firm.
