Our story began with the establishment of our founding partner, James A. Garvey Sr., who graduated from the University of Buffalo law school in 1949. Following his graduation, he served in the United States Navy during World War II, commanding an LCT in the Mediterranean Theatre.

In the years that followed, James Garvey started his own law firm, a move that would set the stage for the law firm that we know today. From the outset, he dedicated his practice to advocating for personal injury victims, a cause that was far-reaching and forward-thinking for the time. Throughout his career, he proudly represented individuals from all walks of life, including those with mental, emotional, and physical disabilities, as well as those of different colors and nationalities.
