Our Story

Mid-Illinois Companies is a privately owned commercial construction and maintenance service company with deep roots in Peoria, Illinois. Founded in 1970 by entrepreneur Dan Higdon, MIC has grown significantly over the years while always maintaining a steadfast commitment to delivering exceptional quality and building lasting relationships within the Central Illinois community.

Our journey began with a simple vision: to provide reliable and skilled construction services that met the evolving needs of our clients. Since then, we've expanded our operations, opening a second office in Springfield, Illinois in 2013, and built a reputation for dependability and integrity. Today, MID-Illinois Companies is shared owned by Debra Young, Robert "Bobby" Taylor, and Dennis Higdon. We continue to evolve and adapt with the ever-changing construction industry, staying at the forefront of innovation while never losing sight of our core values.
