At Ellsworth Childcare & Learning Center, we are dedicated to providing a developmentally stimulating and culturally responsive experience for children, fulfilling their social, emotional, and academic needs. Our state-licensed center is structured with classrooms according to age, each run by teachers who create tailored lesson plans based on Kansas Early Learning Standards, classroom schedules, and developmentally appropriate environments.

Our mission is to partner with our community to provide children with a quality learning experience, building a strong foundation for their future learning experiences in school and beyond. We strive to create well-rounded individuals who are geared for success, competent, and confident in their abilities.

Our Curriculum

We believe in the development of the whole child. Our curriculum is designed to focus on the creative, emotional, intellectual, physical, and social growth of each individual. We have several goals for children, including being competent and confident in their abilities, self-directed in a constructive and creative manner, successful in future educational experiences, and more. We encourage family involvement and support, and our teaching staff attends continuing educational opportunities to stay informed of the latest educational research.

Our Approaches

Our curriculum is divided into three main approaches: Learning, Playing, and Social Emotional. In each classroom, teachers create tailored lesson plans, schedules, and environments that are developmentally appropriate for their age group. We believe that play-based learning is genuinely and positively impactful on student learning and development. Play allows children to use their creativity while developing their imagination, dexterity, and physical, cognitive, and emotional strength. Our teaching staff also focuses on the social emotional well-being of all children, providing a foundation for continued learning into the future.

Our Facilities and Services

Our center is equipped with modern facilities, including classrooms structured according to age, outdoor play areas, and well-balanced meal services including breakfast, lunch, morning and afternoon snacks. We provide a safe and healthy environment for children to learn and grow, and our staff is dedicated to providing a quality experience for each child.

Our Community

We are proud to be a part of the Ellsworth community, and we are committed to providing childcare services to the community and surrounding areas. We have received grants from organizations such as the Dane G Hansen Foundation to support our mission, including funding for construction and renovations to reinforce the foundation in our facility.
