Disappointing Experience with Roberts Engineering Group (REG)
Unnecessary Work and Overbilling
Valdi K. hired Roberts Engineering Group (REG) for a pool and cabana project, signing a $4,700 contract that included wetlands investigation, survey, and building permit plans. However, during the initial phase, REG claimed there were wetlands on the property, pushing for additional permits and costs. After an independent investigation proved no wetlands existed, Valdi K. fired REG, who had accomplished nothing but billed $2,675.
Inefficient and Overpriced Services
The reviewer found a new engineer who obtained the necessary building permits for only $950, using existing surveys and data. Valdi K. believes REG's business practices prioritize padding their pockets over serving clients' interests, suggesting that private citizens should beware of their tactics.
Lack of Transparency and Unresponsiveness
When Valdi K. disputed the charges, REG failed to respond. Eventually, they settled for less than what REG claimed. Valdi K. warns others to avoid REG's overpricing and inefficient services, as they often work with local governments and taxpayers' money, which may not prioritize cost-effectiveness.
