Drop the H Brewing Company is a unique establishment that combines the art of craft brewing with the joy of pizza-making, creating an unforgettable experience for the patrons of Pittsburg, Kansas. Named in honor of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Pittsburg, Kansas dropped the "H" in its name in the late 1800s, and over a century later, Drop the H Brewing Company arrived on the scene with a mission: to provide the community with exceptional Craft Beer, Craft Pizza, and a Craft Experience.

Skillfully Crafted Beers and Savory Dishes

Our beers are skillfully crafted on-site by founder Mark McClain, who perfected his brewing technique over several decades while serving thousands of pints to friends and family. Mark enrolled in the Seibel Institute's certificate program to study the chemistry of brewing, combining this education with a Business of Beer course of study at the University of Vermont. Our pizza dough and sauces are also made in-house, and we bake our New York-style pizzas in a custom Marra Forni brick oven, ensuring that every dish we serve is crafted with the freshest ingredients and utmost care.

A Range of Activities and Specials

Drop the H Brewing Company is more than just a brewery and restaurant-we aim to provide an extraordinary experience for our patrons. We offer a variety of activities, such as Trivia Night every Wednesday from 7:00 to 8:30 pm, featuring DJ Trivia, a live hosted general knowledge fun trivia game with a variety of categories, questions, and fun with the perfect music soundtrack. We welcome you to challenge your friends and enjoy the trivia experience.

We also have a private room available for parties and meetings, as well as a range of specials to cater to different tastes and preferences, such as Takeout Tuesday with 20% off all food orders, Thirsty Thursday with 30% off all brews, and First Responder Fridays with a 10% discount for veterans, active-duty personnel, guards, and reserves. We offer a Lunch Special featuring a personal pizza, one of our delicious salads, and a soft beverage for $12. You can't beat it!

Meet the McClains

Drop the H Brewing Company is the brainchild of Mark and Cathy McClain, who share a passion for providing excellent food, drink, and entertainment. Mark attended high school in Germany where the legal drinking age was 16 and frequented biergartens. He spent his spare time as an Air Force KC-135 pilot creating his own biergartens, perfecting his technique over several decades. Meanwhile, Cathy flew the same KC-135 Stratotanker aircraft as Mark and later directed programs for Boeing and Spirit AeroSystems. Today, she is the founder of Dauntless Leadership, her executive coaching company. They are both dedicated to making Drop the H Brewing Company a welcoming and exceptional destination for the community.
