We put your family's smiles first

At Churchwell Pediatric Dentistry, we are dedicated to providing the highest quality care in a pleasant and friendly atmosphere. Our team of experienced and friendly dental professionals are here to help your child maintain the health, beauty, and function of their smiles. Our office opened in 1995 and is led by board-certified pediatric dentists, Dr. Caroline and Dr. Molly Churchwell, who are sisters.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide top-notch dental care for your children in a caring and fun environment. We believe that every child deserves to have a healthy, beautiful smile, and we're committed to helping them achieve that. We're dedicated to making sure your child feels comfortable and confident throughout their dental visits, and we strive to make every experience positive and enjoyable.

Our Services

We offer a wide range of dental services designed to meet the unique needs of children. These services include general and preventative care, restorative services, patient comfort and sedation, hospital dentistry, thumb, finger, and pacifier habits, and space maintainers. Our goal is to provide comprehensive care that addresses all aspects of your child's dental health, ensuring they receive the best possible treatment.

General and Preventative Care

Following the guidelines set by the American Dental Association and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, we recommend that children start visiting us around the age of one. This allows us to detect any potential problems early and address them before they become more serious issues. Regular cleanings, dental sealants, and fluoride treatments are just a few of the services we offer to help keep your child's teeth and mouth healthy.

Restorative Services

If your child needs restorative dental work, Dr. Caroline or Dr. Molly will thoroughly assess their teeth and mouth to develop a personalized treatment plan. Our approach is non-intimidating, non-judgmental, and very gentle. We understand that dental work can be stressful for children, so we make sure to explain everything in a way they can understand and provide plenty of reassurance and support throughout the process.

Patient Comfort and Sedation

We want to make sure your child feels comfortable and relaxed during their dental visits. To help with this, we offer oral sedation and nitrous oxide, or laughing gas. These options can help reduce anxiety and make the experience more enjoyable for your child. The American Dental Association endorses sedation as an effective way to make many patients comfortable during their dental visit.

Hospital Dentistry

In some cases, dental work may need to be performed under general anesthesia. If this is necessary, an experienced healthcare provider will be responsible for the general anesthesia delivery, monitoring, and medical care of your child.

Thumb, Finger, and Pacifier Habits

Most children can be expected to stop sucking their thumbs, pacifiers, or other objects by 24 to 36 months of age. We will carefully monitor the way your child's teeth erupt and jaws develop at each visit to ensure these habits are not causing any issues.

Space Maintainers

Primary, or baby, teeth serve as placeholders for permanent teeth. If your child loses a baby tooth too early, we can use custom-made space maintainers to stop movement and guide permanent teeth into their ideal position.
