Located in the heart of Tabernash, Colorado, just minutes from Winter Park Resort, our rustic-chic restaurant offers a unique dining experience that combines the warmth of a mountain lodge with the sophistication of a fine dining establishment.

Our Story

Our story begins with Chef Alberto Sapien, a passionate and innovative chef who has spent his career perfecting his craft in some of the top kitchens in the country. Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and raised in Denver, Colorado, Chef Alberto's love for cooking was ignited at a young age, and he has been pursuing his passion ever since. After working in some of the top restaurants in the country, Chef Alberto partnered with David McKnight to open Tabernash Tavern in 2008, bringing his unique blend of international flavors and mountain-inspired cuisine to the people of Grand County.

Our culinary team, led by Chef Alberto and Executive Sous Chef Jason Orive, is dedicated to creating dishes that are both delicious and Instagram-worthy.
