Caring for the eyes of Texas, one patient at a time

At Texas State Optical, we understand the importance of maintaining healthy vision and providing top-notch eye care services. Our team of skilled optometrists, led by Dr. Nathan Hatridge and Dr. Ly Nguyen, O.D., are dedicated to ensuring that our patients receive the best possible care for their eyes. We believe that clear vision is not just about seeing the world around you, but also about maintaining a healthy lifestyle and well-being.

Our office, located in Cypress, Texas, serves the communities of Cypress, Fairfield, and Hempstead. We are committed to providing comprehensive eye exams, contact lens exams, and medical eye exams, as well as urgent care for any unexpected eye issues that may arise. We also offer a variety of specialty services, including dry eye treatment, myopia management, and surgical co-management for LASIK and cataract surgery.

Our team is comprised of experienced professionals who are passionate about delivering exceptional patient care. Dr. Hatridge and Dr. Nguyen are both trained in the management of ocular diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. They are also skilled in the treatment of anterior segment and corneal diseases, and have a particular interest in managing dry eye.

Dr. Hatridge received his Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2013, following his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin. He has extensive experience in treating ocular diseases, including diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and macular degeneration, and is well-versed in the management of dry eye.

Dr. Nguyen, on the other hand, graduated from the University of Houston with her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2003. She has practiced in the Houston and College Station areas and received her training providing eye care to our Nation's Marines inside a Navy Clinic on the Quantico Marine Corps base in Virginia. She is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Optometric Association, Texas Optometric Association, Harris County Optometric Society, and Cy-Fair Chamber of Commerce.

Our Services

At Texas State Optical, we offer a wide range of services designed to meet the unique needs of each patient. From comprehensive eye exams to contact lens exams, we are dedicated to providing the highest level of care and service. Our services include:

  • Comprehensive Eye Exams: Our comprehensive eye exams are designed to assess the health of your eyes and provide a thorough evaluation of your vision. During your exam, we will check for common vision problems, as well as signs of eye diseases such as cataracts, glaucoma, and age-related macular degeneration.
  • Visual Field Testing: Visual field testing is a critical component of our comprehensive eye exams. This test helps us assess your peripheral vision, which is essential for driving, reading, and other daily activities.
  • Senior Care: As we age, our eyes undergo significant changes that can affect our vision and eye health. Our senior care services are designed to address these unique needs and ensure that our senior patients receive the best possible care.
  • Contact Lens Exams: If you are considering contact lenses, we offer comprehensive contact lens exams to determine the best type of lenses for your eyes. Our exams include a thorough evaluation of your corneas, as well as a discussion of your lifestyle and preferences to ensure the best fit.
  • Colored Contacts: For those looking to enhance or change the color of their eyes, we offer colored contact lenses. These lenses are available in a variety of colors and can be customized to match your unique preferences.
  • Specialty Contact Lenses: We also offer specialty contact lenses for patients with unique eye shapes or conditions. These lenses are designed to provide optimal comfort and vision, even for those with astigmatism, presbyopia, or keratoconus.
  • Medical Eye Exam: Our medical eye exams are designed to assess the health of your eyes and detect any potential problems or diseases. These exams are critical for maintaining healthy vision and preventing serious eye conditions.
  • Diabetic Eye Exams: If you have diabetes, it is essential to have regular eye exams to monitor any changes in your vision or eye health. Our diabetic eye exams are designed to detect signs of diabetic retinopathy, a common complication of diabetes that can cause vision loss if left untreated.
  • Glaucoma Testing: Glaucoma is a serious eye condition that can cause vision loss if left untreated. Our glaucoma testing is designed to detect signs of this condition and provide early treatment options.
  • Pediatric Eye Exams: Good vision is essential for children's learning and development. Our pediatric eye exams are designed to assess the health of your child's eyes and detect any potential vision problems early on.
  • Urgent Care: If you experience any unexpected eye issues, such as redness, pain, or vision changes, we offer urgent care services to address these concerns promptly.
  • Specialty Services: In addition to our comprehensive eye exams and contact lens exams, we also offer a variety of specialty services designed to meet the unique needs of our patients. These services include dry eye treatment, myopia management, and surgical co-management for LASIK and cataract surgery.

Advanced Diagnostic Technology

At Texas State Optical, we believe in staying at the forefront of the latest advancements in eye care technology. We utilize a variety of diagnostic tools to assess the health of your eyes and provide the most accurate diagnoses possible. These tools include:

  • Optos Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT): This advanced diagnostic tool uses low-coherence interferometry to capture high-resolution images of the retina and anterior segment of the eye. OCT scans provide detailed information about the structure of the eye, allowing us to detect signs of diseases such as age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and glaucoma.
  • Retinal Imaging Testing: Retinal imaging is a critical component of our comprehensive eye exams. Using digital retinal imaging, we can capture detailed images of the retina and detect signs of diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, and retinal detachment.
  • Ocular Aesthetics: In addition to our diagnostic services, we also offer a variety of ocular aesthetics, including specialty contact lenses and post-surgical contact lenses. These lenses are designed to enhance the appearance of your eyes while also providing optimal vision and comfort.

Specialty Contact Lenses

At Texas State Optical, we understand that every patient has unique needs and preferences when it comes to contact lenses. That's why we offer a variety of specialty contact lenses designed to meet the specific needs of our patients. These lenses include:

  • Post Surgical Contact Lenses: For patients who have undergone eye surgery, such as LASIK or cataract surgery, we offer post-surgical contact lenses. These lenses are designed to provide optimal comfort and vision during the recovery period.
  • Scleral Lenses: Scleral lenses are large-diameter lenses that cover the entire corneal surface. These lenses are ideal for patients with keratoconus, astigmatism, or dry eye.

In addition to our comprehensive eye exams and specialty services, we also offer a wide selection of eyewear options to meet the unique needs and preferences of our patients.
