At Foothills Podiatry, we provide a warm and welcoming environment for all feet. Whether you're dealing with cold feet, a lead foot, or anything in between, our dedicated team of professionals is ready to help you get back on your feet and moving forward. Our office has been serving the Foothills community since 1932, when Dr. W.L. Mauney established the practice as the first podiatry clinic in Cleveland County and the eighth in the state of North Carolina.

Our Services

Foothills Podiatry offers a wide range of medical and surgical services for diseases of the foot and ankle. Our team of experienced doctors and staff members provide in-office surgery, outpatient surgery, and in-office vascular testing for patients of all ages. We have hospital privileges at Kings Mountain Hospital, Cleveland Regional Hospital, and Cleveland Ambulatory Services, an accredited facility in Shelby that specializes in outpatient surgery and endoscopy procedures.

At Foothills Podiatry, we accept Medicare, Medicaid, and almost all commercial insurance plans. We are committed to providing top-quality care to our patients, and our doctors regularly re-credential every 10 years to stay up-to-date with the latest technology and treatments. They also receive 25 hours of continuing education credits annually.

In July 2018, we were pleased to welcome Dr. Gretchen Lawrence to our practice. Dr. Lawrence completed a four-year surgical residency in the foot and ankle and has eight years of practice experience prior to joining Foothills Podiatry.

Our Team

Our team of doctors includes Dr. Jeff Mauney, Dr. W.L. Mauney's son, and Dr. Ron Maskarinec, both board-certified and dedicated to providing the best possible care to our patients. Our staff includes five dedicated members, including podiatric medical assistants Debbie Walker and Kelly McDaniel.

Our History

Foothills Podiatry has a rich history in the Foothills community. Dr. W.L. Mauney, a descendant of the Mauneys who helped found the City of Kings Mountain in the 1870s, established the practice in Uptown Shelby in 1932. It was the first podiatry practice in Cleveland County and the eighth in the state of North Carolina. Dr. Mauney moved the practice to North Lafayette Street in 1973 and continued to serve the area's residents until 1980. Dr. Jeff Mauney joined his father in the practice in 1976, and in 1985, Dr. Jeff Mauney moved the office to its current Morgan Street location. Dr. Ron Maskarinec joined the staff in 1990, and the practice has grown and incorporated new procedures and treatments over the years.

Our Office

Our office is located at 707 North Morgan Street in Shelby, North Carolina. We are open Monday through Thursday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, and Tuesday from 7:30 am to 7:00 pm. Our office is closed on Fridays.
