Our History

The Rowlands have been a steadfast presence in North Augusta, serving the community with care and compassion for over three decades. In 1991, Johnny and Miriam Rowland, after years dedicated to a larger corporate funeral service, made the decision to establish their own firm, Rowland Funeral Home. This family-owned and operated venture was born from their profound desire to offer personalized attention and genuine empathy to families during their most difficult times.

The community's embrace of their vision led to an exciting opportunity in 1996 - the chance to build an even more spacious and welcoming facility. The Rowland Family eagerly responded to this encouragement, constructin ing a new 12,000 square foot location on Martintown Road. This elegant and thoughtfully designed building opened its doors in 1997, marking a new chapter in their commitment to serving North Augusta with dignity and respect. The new Rowland Funeral Home was swiftly recognized as a leader in the field, receiving an invitation to join the esteemed Selected Independent Funeral Homes Association. Membership in this prestigious organization is by invitation only, reserved for funeral homes that uphold the highest standards of service and professionalism across the nation.

In 2017, the torch was gracefully passed to the next generation. Johnny and Miriam's daughter, Miriam, and her husband, Michael Ford, took the helm, seamlessly continuing the tradition of care and compassion that had become synonymous with the Rowland name. The name of the firm evolved to Rowland-Ford Funeral Home, a testament to the enduring legacy and the excited anticipation of a new chapter in serving families with love and support.
