Every once in a while, after we complete a successful fence installation project, a satisfied customer will ask one of our family members about the name Yaboo Fence. We'll hear things like: "What was your inspiration for naming the company 'Yaboo Fence'? Is 'Yaboo' an ancient name from a distant country? Is it a family symbol of prosperity and success? Is it a subtle way to rank better in search engines alongside Yahoo News?" None of those. It was an accident. We wanted to be first in the phone book, and the phone company took our ad request wrong. But there's much more to the story.

Yaboo Fence is a fourth-generation, family-owned company that has been serving the Hudson Valley with commercial and residential fencing solutions since 1955. Our company's history began with our Great Grandfather, Anthony __, who moved from Hudson NY to Piermont, NY. In 1955, he started his career working on the original Tappan Zee Bridge, a time of great vision for the future of Rockland County's infrastructure. As he gained experience in the construction industry, he began formally working with Anchor Fence Company, still in operation today. In the evenings, he worked on his own small venture, ABOO FENCE, a name he chose to rank higher in traditional print phone books.

In the 1980s, Elaine and Frank, Anthony's daughter and son-in-law, took over the business, and it was during this time that the name was accidentally changed to Yaboo Fence. Despite the name change, the company continued to thrive, and in the 1990s, Frank's brother, Buzzy, joined the business. Together, they grew the company, expanding their offerings to include a wide range of fencing solutions for both residential and commercial clients.

Today, Yaboo Fence is proud to have over sixty employees in a union-friendly environment, where our Open Shop Employer practices are well-respected as an example in our industry. This environment is maintained throughout our company, with our family values as a guiding force.
