Welcome to Redig Funeral Home, where we have been providing compassionate care and burial services to the Iowa community since 1938. Our story began when Roger and Pat Redig purchased the Wharton Funeral Home in 1991. Roger, who is the son of Melvin and Betty Redig, was born and raised in Storm Lake. He graduated from Storm Lake High School in 1974 and later attended Buena Vista College and the Worsham Mortuary College in Chicago. Roger became licensed in 1987 and worked at various funeral homes before acquiring the Wharton Funeral Home with his wife Pat.

Under the Redig family's leadership, we have continued to deliver quality funeral, cremation, and cemetery services to the local community and beyond. Our mission is to honor the life of the deceased with dignity and respect, while also supporting those who are grieving. We understand the importance of personalized care and attention to detail, which is why we strive to make every service a meaningful and memorable experience.

Company History

George R. Wharton VI started the business in 1938, moving the undertaking business into their home at 401 Main Street. His son, George R. Wharton VII, joined the business in 1947. The Wharton family served the community for many years before selling the business to Roger and Pat Redig. Today, we continue to operate from the same location, honoring the legacy of those who came before us.

Pre-Arrangements

We understand that planning for the future can be a sensitive topic, but we believe it's important to make informed decisions. That's why we offer pre-arrangements for funeral services. Our pre-arrangement form can be downloaded from our website or obtained by contacting us directly. You can either print the form and bring it with you or email it to us. We are here to help you make your wishes known and ensure that your loved ones are not burdened with difficult decisions during a difficult time.
