We shape little minds and we change lives
At Irving Park Early Learning Center, we are dedicated to providing a high-quality childcare experience that nurtures the whole child. Our commitment to care is rooted in our vision of shaping young minds and changing lives. For over 20 years, our family-owned and operated childcare center has been proudly serving the Irving Park, Ravenswood, and Albany Park communities.
Our History and Philosophy
Established in 1999 by Rose Ocasio, B.A.Ed., ECE, a mother and entrepreneur, our center was founded on the principle that children learn best through play. We believe that a balanced combination of structured learning experiences and free play chosen by the child is essential for optimal growth and development. Our highly-qualified teachers and staff are devoted to their work with our young children and their families, and undergo regular training and certification to grow their skills right along with their students.
Our Curriculum
Our curriculum is designed to meet the unique needs of each child, from infancy to preschool age. We believe that play is critical to a child's healthy growth and development, and our daily schedule reflects this. Our programs include reading readiness, story-time, math, science, art, self-selected activity time, Spanish, music, dramatic play, dance, and creative movement. Our curriculum is designed to help our infants reach their milestones and prepare our preschoolers for school.
Health and Safety
At IPELC, we take the health, safety, and security of your child very seriously. We have implemented a number of measures to ensure your child's well-being, including a number code entry system for building access, monitored security cameras, and criminal background checks on all staff members. Our commitment to health and safety extends to regular communication with parents and staff, as well as ongoing training and education for our staff.
Our Facilities
We have two convenient locations in Chicago: 3023 W. Montrose and 3000 W. Montrose. Both locations offer state-certified, multicultural, infant, toddler, and preschool childcare services for children from 6 weeks to 5 years old. Our hours of operation are 6:30am to 6:00pm every weekday for ages 2 and up and 7:00am to 6:00pm for infants and toddlers.
