ATURA architecture, formerly WWA Architects, is a full-service architecture firm based out of Clear Lake, Iowa, with a secondary office in Ankeny, Iowa. This year, we celebrate 100 years in North Iowa, originating in 1923 with Hanson & Waggoner. In 2012, WWA became a subsidiary of Dean Snyder Construction to better service design-build projects. We strive to deliver a product to our clients that is rewarding for all users, providing an equally rewarding experience in the process of design. Our services span from public to private sectors, including educational design, commercial design, healthcare design, civic design, worship design, and residential design.

We specialize in everything from public to private sectors, including educational design, commercial design, healthcare design, civic design, worship design, and residential design. Our ability to leverage contractor resources provides the most up-to-date cost estimating capabilities, scheduling, and value engineering from the early onset of the project. We will equip you with creative and functional design solutions to help you and your team make a well-educated decision on the design direction you feel comfortable with.
History
The firm has been continuously involved in the practice of architecture for over 100 years in Mason City & Clear Lake, Iowa. It had its beginning in 1923 when Harry Hansen and Karl Waggoner came to Mason City from Waterloo to open an architectural office. Thomas Waggoner joined the firm in 1954 and became a partner in 1958. The firm was incorporated in 2002 as Waggoner & Wineinger Architects, Inc. (WWA). In 2012, the firm became a division of Dean Snyder Construction (DSC), Clear Lake, Iowa. In 2018, WWA absorbed DSC Design Group (established 2007) and together rebranded to become ATURA architecture.
Outreach & Awareness
As the building and development environment continues to evolve in both rural and metro areas, we are at the forefront of creating and supporting programs helping youth understand the importance of design and construction-related fields. Each year, we invest thousands of dollars and dozens of hours speaking to students, working alongside school districts, and volunteering our services for STEM programs. Most notably, our annual Student Collaborative Design Competition (SCDC) helps create project-based learning opportunities for North Iowa Schools.
Giving Back
ATURA, along with Dean Snyder Construction, has partnered with the Pinky Swear Foundation to assist the organization both financially and in their efforts to raise awareness of the wonderful things they do to help kids with cancer and their families with financial and emotional support.
