Our History

Our historic building has been a centerpiece of downtown Waterville since its construction in 1877. Originally home to Waterville National Bank, then the Waterville Post Office, and later Giguere's Clothing Store, the building was transformed into the landmark restaurant known as the Silver Street Tavern in the early 1970s. A recently completed major renovation restored the upper floors to historic standards, earning the building the 2015 statewide Historic Preservation Honor Award.
