Our company has been a pioneer in sustainability in the Pacific Northwest, specializing in green building and passive solar design since 1979. Our work is more than just incorporating solar applications; it's about integrating sustainable practices with design and lifestyle choices, resulting in socially responsible and cost-effective energy measures. We have extensive experience with off-grid, straw bale, and environmentally preferable materials, and we deliver our projects on time and on budget, while ensuring they are light-filled and harmonized with natural systems.

Our team is led by Anthony Stoppiello, a licensed architect with over 35 years of experience in the field of architecture and eco-design. Anthony has served as the Sustainability Division chair for the American Solar Energy Society, board president of the Solar Energy Association of Oregon (now Solar Oregon), and as a board member for community business associations. He has also taught Sustainable Building at Clatsop Community College.

Victoria Stoppiello, co-founder of the company, has a background in management, higher education, and non-profit organizations. She has served as a planning commissioner and city councilor and has written articles for national publications including Solar Today, Fine Homebuilding, and BackHome magazines. Victoria frequently collaborates with Anthony on classes and articles about passive solar green building design.

Services

We offer a range of services in green eco-design, consulting, and education. Our eco-design services include site analysis, schematic design, establishing construction budgets, effective written construction documents, coordinating consultants, construction administration, and liaison with government agencies. Our consulting services assist with critical decision-making at the earliest phase of a development project, including zoning review, time-line, and cost estimates. We also offer recommendations for existing buildings that emphasize energy efficiency, enhanced function, and reduced maintenance and operations expense.

Our education services include presentations covering passive solar design, daylighting, hands-on construction, site analysis, and fundamentals of sustainable culture. We are based in Oregon and serve clients in Oregon, Washington, California, Idaho, and beyond.
