Educate. Empower. Energize.
Our History
Established in 1961, the Independent Electrical Contractors - Oklahoma City chapter (IEC-OKC) emerged from the vision of 31 pioneering electrical contractors across the state. Recognizing the need for a unified voice for open-shop electrical contractors and a dedicated platform for training the next generation of industry professionals, these visionaries laid the groundwork for what would become a cornerstone of Oklahoma City's electrical contracting landscape. Among the founding members were prominent names like Bowers Electric, Boggs Electric, Bramlett Electric, and numerous others, each contributing their expertise and commitment to building a stronger electrical contracting community. It is also important to remember the early contributions of Paul Colter of Colter Electric, whose signature graced documents from IEC National dating back to 1958, further demonstrating the organization's deep roots in the industry.
The IEC-OKC remains deeply indebted to the legacy of its founders, embodying their dedication to craftsmanship, professionalism, and community engagement.
