History & Mission

Our journey began in 1993 when Ellen Orkin and Pamela Friedman met while their daughters were in preschool together. They discovered a shared passion for food and cooking and soon began cooking together for dinner parties, cocktail parties, and family celebrations. Friends encouraged them to turn their passion into a business, and Word of Mouth Foods was born in 2002.
