Experienced Instructors

At Johny's Plumbing Education, our team of instructors boasts extensive experience and expertise in the plumbing trade. Johnny, the founder, is a retired examiner for the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners, possessing a unique understanding of exam content and requirements. During his tenure as an examiner from 1989 to 2008, Johnny played a crucial role in developing the very exams plumbers now face. His deep involvement in the field has equipped him with invaluable insight into industry standards and best practices. Johnny is also a Journeyman and Master Plumber with additional endorsements in Medical Gas, Multi-Purpose Residential Fire Sprinkler Specialist (MPFPS), and Water Supply Piping Systems (WSPS). He holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Education, ensuring a strong foundation in both technical knowledge and effective teaching methodologies.

Joining our team is Doug McAfee, a seasoned professional who has dedicated his career to plumbing since 1988. Doug's unwavering commitment to quality extends beyond his Master Plumber license; it's evident in his pursuit of comprehensive knowledge across various trades. His experience encompasses diverse roles, including working with master plumbers who instilled in him not only technical skills but also a deep understanding of plumbing principles and their significance. Doug's unique perspective as both a licensed plumber and inspector allows him to guide students with a holistic understanding of plumbing's role within the broader construction landscape. He is a licensed Journeyman, Master, and Inspector, holding endorsements in MPFPS, WSPS, and Medical Gas.

Doug is also a certified Building, Mechanical, Electrical, Energy Code, and Plumbing specialist through the International Code Council, demonstrating his comprehensive knowledge of industry regulations and best practices.

Comprehensive Curriculum

From foundational programs like the 24-hour State-required training for the Tradesman Exam and the 48-hour State-required training for the Journeyman Exam, to specialized endorsements like Medical Gas, Multi-Purpose Residential Fire Sprinkler Specialist, and WSPS, we equip our students with the knowledge they need for success. We also offer valuable continuing education credits for license renewal, ensuring professionals stay current with evolving regulations and best practices.
