Our story begins way back in 1989 when Traders Gap Restaurant first opened its doors. Over the years, it became a beloved local institution, known for its warm atmosphere and delicious home cooking. In 2019, after a brief closure, brothers Robert and Richard Townsend saw an opportunity to breathe new life into the cherished establishment. Committed to preserving its legacy while adding their own touches, they renamed the restaurant Sharpie's, honoring the cherished tradition.

Robert, with his 38-year experience in the trucking industry, understands the importance of work-life balance and wanted to find a way to stay connected to his community. Richard, with his 27 years in the manufacturing industry, brings a skilled and strategic approach to operations. Together, they are committed to upholding Sharpie's rich heritage and making it an even more vibrant gathering place for the community.
