Established in 2013, Andermann Animal Clinic has quickly become a leading provider of veterinary care in Ascension Parish. Founded by Dr. Leslie Andermann, a Gonzales native with a deep understanding of the community, our clinic was born from a desire to elevate the standard of animal healthcare while fostering a warm and welcoming environment. We are a small animal general practice, devoted exclusively to the well-being of dogs and cats. Our approach to veterinary medicine hinges on building lasting relationships with both our patients and their owners. Dr. Leslie Andermann

Dr. Andermann is a lifelong resident of Gonzales and is deeply invested in the well-being of our community. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Louisiana State University, bringing comprehensive clinical knowledge and a genuine passion for animal care.

Dr. Andermann has extensive experience in various veterinary settings, including emergency medicine, high-volume surgery clinics, and general practice. Having served as president of the Baton Rouge Area Veterinary Medical Association, she is a respected leader in the veterinary field. Dr. Andermann's primary focus is ensuring that Andermann Animal Clinic provides the highest quality veterinary care with compassion and honesty. She strives to continuously improve our practices and introduce innovative treatments to elevate the standard of care for our patients.

Dr. Julie Hackney

Dr. Hackney joined Andermann Animal Clinic shortly after the 2016 flood, bringing with her over 20 years of experience in veterinary medicine. Hailing from New Orleans, she has called Gonzales home for several years and is deeply committed to serving our community.

Dr. Hackney earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in 1998 and has practiced in various settings across Louisiana. Known for her extraordinary bedside manner and unwavering dedication to patient care, Dr. Hackney treats each animal as if it were her own. She takes the time to provide thorough explanations and education to owners, ensuring they are fully informed and empowered in their pet's healthcare journey. Dr. Hackney's genuine compassion and warm personality have earned her the affectionate title of "mom" of the clinic.

Dr. Jennifer West

Originating from Louisiana, Dr. Jennifer West possesses a deep understanding of our state's unique veterinary needs. She earned both her Bachelor of Science degree and her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Louisiana State University. Dr. West's journey with Andermann Animal Clinic began during her veterinary school years, working as a veterinary assistant when the clinic first opened.

Following her licensure, Dr. West honed her skills in a busy small animal practice in northeast Georgia for 3 years before returning home to Louisiana with her husband.

Dr. West's vast clinical knowledge and tireless work ethic have significantly enhanced our ability to provide exceptional care. Her calm demeanor and professional approach in every situation set a high standard that the entire team strives to emulate. Dr. West possesses a particular interest in surgery and dermatology but takes pride in all aspects of veterinary medicine.
