Our founder, Dan Larsen, has a passion for classic homes. He appreciates the distinctive detailing and character that these homes possess. Dan and his wife Susan own a 1901 Queen Anne cottage in Alameda, which he has lovingly restored to its original character since 1980. He recognizes that an older home needs to fit a modern family's needs and requires alterations that blend with the existing character of the house. Dan believes that comprehensive design, high-quality materials, and old-world craftsmanship bring true value to one's home.

Over the years, Larsen Builders has gained extensive experience in the construction industry. Dan's love for older homes started in 1978 when he apprenticed for a firm in San Francisco restoring Victorian homes. Since then, he has dedicated his life to sharing his skills and insights with homeowners who care about their homes. His wife and partner, Susan Larsen, has been the business manager since the company's inception.

Our Team

• Dan Larsen: Dan is the founder and co-owner of Larsen Builders. He has a passion for classic homes and has been in the construction industry since 1978.
• Susan Larsen: Susan is the co-owner and business manager of Larsen Builders. She has been with the company since its inception in 1985.
• Dale delaTorre: Dale has been with Larsen Builders for over 25 years, starting as an apprentice and rising through the ranks to become a foreman.
• Patrick Larsen: Pat started working for Larsen Builders during his high school summer vacations and into his college years. He is currently one of our top foremen.
• Andrew Larsen: Andrew started working for Larsen Builders during his high school summer vacations. He does rough and finish carpentry on many of our projects.
• Avilio Chun Marin: Avilio has been working for Larsen Builders since 2010, specializing in rough and finish carpentry and everything in between.
