At JDW, Inc., we take pride in being the oldest HVAC R and sheetmetal company in Steamboat Springs. With a rich history spanning three generations, we have been serving the local community since 1969. We are a family-owned and operated business that has seen significant changes over the years, from coal and oil heat to natural gas heat, and from one building at the mountain to several buildings.

Our team is dedicated to providing exceptional service in new construction, remodels, water/sewer plants, coal mines, uranium mines, airports, homes, and anything related to heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, or sheet metal. We have been involved in numerous projects that have contributed to the growth and development of Steamboat Springs and the surrounding areas.

Our team is led by William "Bill" Northrop, who is the third generation working at JDW. Bill oversees all aspects of the business and is very knowledgeable in new installs, remodels, service, and bidding. He enjoys spending time with his family, meeting new people, and enjoying the mountain life.

James "Dewey" Williams, our CEO, is proud to have served in the U.S. Navy as a young man. After his service, he worked for Safeway warehouse for 11 years before moving his young family to Steamboat Springs in 1969. Dewey has seen history unfold in the area and has been instrumental in the growth and development of JDW. He is proud that the company has grown and changed with the times. Dewey's interests include JDW, as well as refurbishing antique cars, remodeling, and landscaping.

Brenda Northrop, our controller, is the second generation of JDW. She is the daughter of Dewey and Janet and oversees all aspects of the business. Brenda enjoys her children and grandchildren, as well as camping, gardening, landscaping, cooking, and traveling.

Janet Williams, Dewey's wife, moved to Steamboat Springs 30 days after Dewey and the kids followed. She had never seen the area before but was immediately captivated by its beauty. Janet has worked side by side with Dewey from the beginning and enjoys her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids, as well as sewing, reading, yard work, and traveling.
