Robinson and Associates Architecture, Inc. is a professional architectural firm dedicated to providing comprehensive architectural services. We are a team of experienced architects, engineers, and project managers who share a common goal of designing a better future for tomorrow. Our scope of services includes land surveying, civil engineering, landscape architecture, architecture, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering.

Our team is led by Wm. Barry Robinson, who holds a Master of Architecture degree from Tuskegee University and has over 30 years of experience in designing various projects such as academic education facilities, community centers, gymnasiums, cultural, historic, institutional, church facilities, and multi-family housing projects. Mr. Robinson is a registered architect with licenses in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Mississippi. He is also a member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB), which supports reciprocal licensing throughout the United States.

Our team also includes Damian Barnes, an intern architect with a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Tuskegee University. Mr. Barnes is proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Sketch-Up, and hand drafting and model designing. Barry Glazer Robinson, our project manager, holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Science and Management from Tuskegee University. Mr. Glazer is skilled in AutoCAD, Speclink-E, Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Photoshop.

Services

At Robinson and Associates Architecture, Inc., we offer comprehensive services from programming through construction using the five phases of our delivery method. These phases include Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, Bidding, and Construction Administration.

Schematic Design

In the Schematic Design phase, we meet with the owner to verify their programming (needs and budget) for the renovations. We then prepare Schematic Design drawings and solutions to be approved by the owner. This phase ensures that the funding source is verified, and all requirements are met.

Design Development

Based on the approved Schematic Design Concept, we prepare Design Development Documents consisting of drawings and other documents to encompass the scope of improvements to the architectural, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems. We also determine any environmental issues and such other elements as may be appropriate.

Construction Document

In this phase, we complete the documents for use in bidding and construction of the renovations. We prepare Construction Documents that set forth the requirements for the construction of the project. These documents include plans and technical specifications to be used during construction. We review the Construction documents with the approving authority to assure they address and suffice the owner's needs.

Bidding Services

Following approval of the Construction Documents, we assist the owner in obtaining bids from General Contractors. This includes advertising for bids, general contractor pre-qualification (if desired), interpretation of drawings during the bidding phase, and receipt and evaluation of bid proposals.

Construction Review Services

After execution of the Contract for Construction, we provide the following services during construction of the project: We conduct monthly Owner/Architect/Contractor meetings to keep the owner apprised of the project and to allow Contractor to present questions and issues. We make periodic review of the work as construction progresses to determine if the work is generally being done according to the Contract Documents. We make site visits as required based on the scope of the project while construction is taking place. After each site visit, we note and report to the owner any discrepancies or issues that need to be addressed.
