Quality of Services and Equipment
The reviews highlight concerns about the quality of services and equipment provided by Shirley Brothers funeral home. Anthony Bowes, who rated the funeral home 2 stars, reports that he was embarrassed and irritated when they brought a 20-year-old hearse for his father's funeral. He also states that the funeral director left before the showing was over, leaving an elderly lady who didn't have a clue what was going on. Furthermore, the funeral home does not have caskets on site for viewing and only offers video slides.
On the other hand, Jeff Bell, who rated the funeral home 5 stars, had a positive experience with Dustin Miller and his team. He praised their professionalism and wonderful service before, during, and after the funeral service.
Financial Issues
Anthony Bowes also mentions that it is "fairly clear that there are some financial issues" at Shirley Brothers. He speculates that the funeral home sold off their limousines during the Covid pandemic because they couldn't use them, which he found puzzling.
Comparison to Other Funeral Homes
Anthony Bowes expresses his willingness to spend more money on a nicer funeral home for the next occasion. Jeff Bell, on the other hand, would highly recommend Shirley Brothers, specifically Dustin Miller and his team, to his friends and family.
