The Retreat apartments offer a unique space and layout, with two master bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. This feature is a major plus for many residents.
Maintenance and Repairs
Maintenance and repairs are a mixed bag at The Retreat. On the positive side, the head maintenance man is described as kind and interesting. However, there have been issues with delayed and incomplete repairs, with damaged walls and personal items being knocked down and destroyed.
Noise
One of the biggest drawbacks of living at The Retreat is the noise. Residents report hearing every sound, from hallway doors closing to neighbors watching movies, construction, trains, and more.
Pools and Amenities
The Retreat has two pools, which is a major plus for many residents. However, there is no bathroom or outside shower at the upper pool. The complex also has a small dog park and is within walking distance to a paseo.
Rats and Infestations
Unfortunately, The Retreat has had issues with rat infestations, bee infestations, and fly infestations. These problems have led to dead rats in some apartments and a generally unpleasant living environment.
Rent and Deposit
Rent increases have been a problem at The Retreat, with some residents seeing hikes of up to $300 per month without any marketable improvements to the facilities. The deposit return process has also been inconsistent, with some residents having issues getting their full deposit back.
Service and Staff
Service at The Retreat has been inconsistent, with some residents reporting poor service from both the maintenance staff and the leasing staff. There have been issues with unresponsiveness and unprofessionalism from the new leasing manager.
