Our History
The Holt Apartments has a rich history, dating back to 1910 when it was originally built as the Kemp-Kell Building. In 1926, the building was sold to George Holt and H.S. Ford, who converted it into a state-of-the-art hotel. The Holt Hotel was renowned for its luxurious accommodations and was a popular destination for many notable guests, including Eleanor Roosevelt and Sally Rand. Today, we continue to honor our rich history while providing modern amenities and services to our residents.
The Holt, an apartment complex, has received mixed reviews from residents. Apartment Complex Challenges describe a beautiful apartment complex that can be problematic to navigate on weekends due to the presence of a farmers market. One reviewer, Christa Moseley, had a negative experience with the complex's manager, Michelle, who is described as "completely looney tunes" and "rude, ignorant, and just an awful human being." Moseley also believed that Michelle might live in the dumpster beneath the trash chute.
On the other hand, A Positive Experience was had by Winfield Little, whose daughter rented an apartment at the Holt and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Little praised the complex's location, which is within walking distance of a farmers market, breweries, restaurants, and coffee shops. He also praised Michelle, describing her as running a "top-notch establishment" and the residents as "great people."
