Recent Projects

At Dentler-Segall Design and Build, we are proud of our portfolio of successful projects. Here are a few examples:

• The Carpinteria Residence: This new residence replaced the original 1906 home in the heart of an eclectic early 20th century beachside Carpinteria neighborhood. The one and a half story 2,000 square foot home features board and batten siding, natural wood and stone materials, and large glass openings that flood the interior with light. The home includes numerous durable and eco-friendly features such as rain screen siding, recyclable materials, renewable materials, polished concrete floors, solar power, and low energy usage equipment.
• The Santa Barbara Residence: This infill single family residence in downtown Santa Barbara's El Pueblo Viejo Historic District is 2,030 square feet of living space in two stories plus a roof deck. The site has the same dimensions as the building with vehicle and pedestrian access through an easement to Santa Barbara Street. The well-furnished contemporary interior of the home is unexpected, adorned with art, and features a narrow two-story tall light box that brings natural light and ventilation into the middle of the living spaces. The project is a great example of adaptive reuse, residential infill, and walkability to downtown restaurants and services.
• The M5 Homes Development: This small infill development consists of 5 detached homes of approximately 1800 square feet each near the beach. The homes feature durable exterior materials including exterior plaster, weathered steel siding, and zincalume corrugated metal siding. The homes are designed to be energy-efficient and eco-friendly, featuring low-flow fixtures, Energy Star appliances, and solar panels.
