Our Story
Our hotel's story began in the 1920s, when famed architects Walker and Eisen designed and built Hotel Normandie as a luxury hotel for the aristocracy of Los Angeles. Over the years, our hotel has played host to numerous famous guests, including English author Malcolm Lowry, who resided at our hotel while writing his famous novel, Under the Volcano. In the 1940s, our hotel became a popular spot for Hollywood's elite, and in the 1950s, our famous Cassell's Hamburgers diner opened its doors.
