Our Approach to Care
At Greater Atlanta Family Counseling, we believe that every individual is unique and deserves a personalized approach to their mental health. We do not subscribe to a one-size-fits-all approach to treatment. Instead, we believe in meeting clients where they are and working with them to develop a customized treatment plan that addresses their specific needs and goals.
Our approach is built on a foundation of empathy, compassion, and a commitment to providing the highest level of care. We take the time to get to know each client, understanding their struggles and developing a deep understanding of their experiences. We then work with them to develop a plan that is tailored to their specific needs and goals.
We understand that every client is different and that what works for one person may not work for another. That's why we draw from a variety of evidence-based treatment models to develop a treatment plan that is tailored to each client's specific needs and goals. Our treatment modalities include cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy, and more.

Caring for Others, Caring for Ourselves
At Greater Atlanta Family Counseling, we believe that taking care of others means taking care of ourselves. That's why we prioritize self-care and self-compassion, ensuring that our staff is emotionally and mentally well-equipped to provide the highest level of care. We believe that a healthy therapist is a better therapist, and we prioritize our own well-being to ensure that we are able to provide the best possible care to our clients.
Therapy Practice Reviews
The reviewed therapy practice has received mixed feedback from its clients. Some have reported negative experiences, while others have praised the staff and services provided.
Respect and Care
Some clients have felt disrespected and uncared for during their interactions with the practice. Leslie Carreon, for instance, was told that the practice would email her to discuss their suitability for her needs, which she found offensive given her extensive mental health history. This lack of respect has led to a negative perception of the practice.
Positive Experiences
On the other hand, several clients have reported positive experiences with the practice. J. L. and Jacquelyn Hughes have praised the therapists, including William Smith and another therapist, for their warmth, knowledge, and effectiveness. Kalyn Wilson has recommended Briana Farlow, LCSW, for her empathy, compassion, and expertise.
Communication Issues
However, some clients have reported issues with communication. Jiquita Pitts felt ignored and unattended to, as it took the therapist four days to respond to her email and then seemed insensitive to her needs. This lack of responsiveness and empathy has led to a negative review.
