Empowering Children to Reach Their Full Potential

Cresco Montessori School is a full-service private school, learning center, and daycare for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years. Our name, Cresco, is derived from a Latin word meaning "to grow, increase, or expand, " which perfectly captures the positive role we play in our children's education. We are committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment where your child can learn and grow.

Our school follows the Montessori philosophy, which is based on the fundamental tenet that a social environment that supports each individual's unique development is crucial for a child's development. We have campuses in Marietta, Johns Creek, Buford, and Woodstock, and we welcome children from full-time, part-time, or drop-in arrangements.

Our Purpose

At Cresco Montessori School, we aim to develop creative thinking and learning and positive attitudes towards school and learning in your children. We strive to foster self-motivation and the ability to concentrate for extended periods, allowing them to choose their own activities and complete them with care and precision. We also aim to cultivate awareness, appreciation, respect, and care for one's environment, self, and others. Our goal is to inspire enthusiasm and a love for new and challenging activities, and to encourage a sense of accomplishment in everything they do, all while promoting grace and courtesy.

Our Programs

At Cresco Montessori School, we offer a wide range of programs tailored to your child's developmental needs. Our Montessori education programs are based on children's developmental needs for freedom within limits and a carefully prepared environment, which guarantees exposure to materials and experiences. Our programs are designed to take full advantage of children's desire to learn and their unique abilities to develop their own capabilities.

We offer the following programs:

  • Infant Program (6 weeks to 14 months)
  • Toddler Program (15 months to 3 years)
  • Primary Program (3 years to 6 years)
  • Summer Camp Enrichment
  • GA Pre-K Overview
  • Elementary Program (6 years to 12 years)

Our programs are designed to foster independence, creativity, and a love for learning. Our classrooms are prepared with a wealth of materials selected and designed to meet the needs of the individuals we serve. Our programs address the total child, developing social skills, emotional growth, physical coordination, and cognitive preparation within a thoughtfully designed environment.

The Montessori Method

The Montessori method is a system of education that is both a philosophy of child development and a rationale for guiding such growth. It is based on children's developmental needs for freedom within limits, as well as a carefully prepared environment, which guarantees exposure to materials and experiences. It is designed to take full advantage of children's desire to learn and their unique abilities to develop their own capabilities.

The basic tenet of Montessori education is that a child learns best in an enriched, supportive environment through exploration, discovery, and creativity with the guidance and encouragement of a trained and caring staff. Children are encouraged to pursue their interests, make responsible choices for themselves, and direct themselves to constructive activities.

Maria Montessori, an Italian physician, conceived and developed this system of educating young children based on her observations and conclusions about how children learn. She developed materials and methods based on her belief that education involved the unfolding and development of the child's innate abilities, talents, and interests.

The Montessori method has been in existence for over 100 years and has been successful in helping children develop a lifelong love of learning. At Cresco Montessori School, we are proud to continue this tradition of excellence in education.
