Sands Motel is a budget-friendly inn located in Cheyenne, the capital city of Wyoming. Our motel is conveniently situated right off I25 and Highway 30 (Lincolnway), making it an ideal place to stay whether you're in town for work or leisure. We pride ourselves on offering unique experiences that suit our guests' needs and are highly rated by our customers for providing excellent value for money.
Location and Attractions
Our motel is located near downtown Cheyenne and major venues like the Frontier Days Museum, Curt Gowdy State Park, and the State Capital. The Rib and Chop house, which offers some of the finest dining in the area, is just 6 blocks away. Cheyenne Airport and FE Warren Airforce Base are both located just 2.5 miles from our property.
Rooms
We offer a range of rooms to suit our guests' needs, including Single Queen, Single King, Single Queen Kitchenette, Double Queen, 2 Room Suite, and 3 Bed Suite. All of our rooms are equipped with Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a 32 LCD screen TV, refrigerator, microwave, and a private bathroom. We also have non-smoking rooms and a designated smoking area.

Things to Do
Cheyenne offers a range of activities and attractions, including the Terry Bison Ranch, where you can take a tour on one of their custom-built trains to see ostriches, camels, and a bison herd, and hand-feed the bison. Tours run daily from June through August at 9:00am, 10:30am, Noon, 1:30pm, 3:00pm, 4:30pm, and 6:00pm, and from September through May at 9:00am, Noon, and 3:00pm (excluding Christmas Day).
The Cheyenne ArtWalk Art Tour takes place on the second Thursday of the month from 5 to 8 p.m., and is a fun way to experience food and art in Cheyenne. The tour lets you talk to artists, try your hand at some art activities, visit local galleries and studios, and see demonstrations and live music.
The Ames Monument is a 60-foot-high granite pyramid dedicated to Oakes Ames and Oliver Ames, two Massachusetts brothers who were extremely influential in constructing the nation's first Transcontinental Railroad. It is located in southeastern Albany County, Wyoming and serves as a reminder of that great enterprise.
The Cheyenne Depot Museum is a former Union Pacific Depot that has been restored to its original glory. It features a visitor center, restaurant, and a museum rich with railroad history, exhibits, and interactive displays.
The Big Boy Steam Locomotive is the world's largest steam locomotive, and was designed to haul heavy freight trains over the steep Sherman Summit in Wyoming. It is on display at the Cheyenne Depot Museum and is a must-see attraction for railroad enthusiasts.
