Down To Earth. Family Friendly. Dog Friendly.
At Ranchwood Veterinary Hospital, we are dedicated to providing the highest quality care to pets and their families in the SW Oklahoma City and Moore area. We believe in a comprehensive approach to medicine, which includes both preventative and interventional care. Our experienced and compassionate staff is dedicated to treating every patient like family. We focus on client education, so our primary care services are designed with that in mind. We offer a full range of services from routine exams to complex surgical procedures.
Our History
Ranchwood Veterinary Hospital has been privately owned since its beginning in 1977. When Dr. McNeal took over in 2005, he aimed to provide "State-of-the-Heart" care. He did this by upgrading to electronic records, adding cold laser therapy, an ultrasound machine, and an in-house laboratory. He also moved to digital radiographs with the ability to have them analyzed by "artificial intelligence". To better serve our sick fur babies, an ICU/oxygen chamber was also added. In 2020, we renovated the interior which included adding a welcoming coffee bar.
Environmentally Focused
At Ranchwood, we strive to keep our carbon footprint as small as possible. In 2007 we added a public charging station to the east side of the building. Then, in 2008 we had solar panels installed on the roof. We pride ourselves in our recycling program and waste limiting processes.
Payment Options
Payment is required at the time services are rendered. We accept cash, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. We have also partnered with CareCredit in order to provide long-term payment options. Checks are not accepted.
Insurance
We all want to be able to provide the best care for our pets. Pet insurance is a great way to help when those unexpected expenses come up. We are happy to work with all pet insurance companies. Please let us know if you need an extra set of records to turn in. These can be provided in electronic or printed form. We are also a part of the Trupanion network. We can get your qualifying claim approved and paid for at the time of your visit.
Dr. McNeal
Dr. Rick McNeal's passion for animals started at an early age and he has pursued that passion ever since. He graduated from Westmoore High School in 1990 and continued his education at Oklahoma City Community College where he earned his Associates in Science in 1991. He then went on to obtain his Bachelor's in Zoology from OSU in 1993 and his DVM from OSU College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. As the owner of Ranchwood Veterinary Hospital since 2005, he has been able to develop strong relationships with not only his patients, but their owners as well. When he's not treating animals, he loves spending time with his family. He has three beautiful children and his cat Fiji who keep him busy and bring him so much joy. One of his hobbies outside of veterinary medicine is birdwatching and cultivating bonsai trees.
