Located at Pathfinder K-8 School in West Seattle, Blazing Trails Childcare is a non-profit before-and-after-school childcare program for school-age children ages five through twelve. Our program is designed to provide a safe, diverse childcare environment dedicated to respectful communication, problem-solving, creative learning, and the freedom to play. We believe that every child is empowered to discover their worth and develop good communication skills.
Our Services
At Blazing Trails Childcare, we offer a wide range of activities designed to engage and educate children. Our staff creates a daily schedule that includes various activities, such as:
- Legos/K'Nex building
- Self-directed art projects
- Organized or self-directed gym games and sports
- Cooking/baking
- Card games and board games
- Imaginative play
We also offer a summer day camp enrichment program, providing an extended learning experience that focuses on creativity, exploration, and fun. Our program is designed to be flexible and adaptable to the needs and interests of the children.
Our Philosophy

Registration
Enrollment at Blazing Trails Childcare is open to children from age five through age twelve who are enrolled in school. Our program is licensed to accept up to 80 children at any one time. Enrollment is on a "first come, first serve" basis for each time slot. During the enrollment period, when we receive the 80th registration, the BT office creates a "wait list" for interested families.
