Our Mission and Vision

At DCPCA, our mission is to create healthier communities through advocacy and the development of the infrastructure to support a high-quality, equitable, integrated healthcare system that gives every DC resident a fair shot at a full and healthy life. Our vision is to create an integrated healthcare system that respects and embraces people throughout the continuum of care, empowers patients to fully engage in their health and well-being, is value-based and patient-centered, and commits to achieving equity and optimal levels of health for all.

Our History

With over 25 years of experience, DCPCA has been at the forefront of strengthening the District's primary care system. Since our founding in 1996, we have been dedicated to expanding and improving primary health care services for residents. Through numerous advocacy efforts and resource development programs, we have worked to rewrite the District's health story and ensure the survival and success of community health centers.

Our Programs

We offer a range of programs designed to support health centers in improving health outcomes for the residents of the District of Columbia. Our programs include:

• Technical Assistance and Training: We provide technical assistance and training to support health centers in improving the rates of cancer screening, implementing value-based payment models, and adopting population health analytics and HIT innovation.
• Peer Groups and Collaboratives: Our peer groups and collaboratives bring together health center staff and community partners to share best practices, address common challenges, and drive innovation in healthcare delivery.
• Resources and Publications: We provide a range of resources and publications to support health centers in their efforts to improve healthcare delivery and outcomes.

Our Priorities

Our priorities include:

• Sustaining Health Centers: We provide technical and operational support to sustain health centers and promote sustainable funding models.
• Transforming DC Care Delivery: We support the movement towards value-based payment through population health analytics, HIT innovation, and practice transformation.
• Building Cross-Continuum Relationships: We facilitate relationships between health centers, hospitals, and other stakeholders to deliver whole-person care through integrated care models and community-oriented partnerships.
• Advancing Racial and Health Equity: We support system transformation to address social determinants of health and health-related social needs, and promote equity and optimal levels of health for all.
