Our Story
Helix was founded on the principles of creativity, innovation, and a commitment to delivering exceptional design solutions that elevate the human experience. Our diverse portfolio of work includes workplace, academic, cultural, mixed-use, multifamily, civic, and hospitality projects, as well as specialized expertise in renovation, adaptive reuse, and preservation of historic buildings.
Our Philosophy
At Helix, we place the human experience at the center of everything we do. We believe that every building, every space is a unique reflection of the people who live, work, and play there. In that sense, every place has its own genetic code. On each project, we seek to understand the DNA of the organization it serves, and this becomes the foundation of our design solution. Architecture and interior design are intertwined, like the double helix that inspired our name, to craft a space that is lasting and meaningful.
Our Process
Our process is creative, yet calculated. We start by asking the right questions, digging below the surface to gain a clear understanding of who you are and what drives your organization. This is the foundation we build upon. We believe the most original ideas are driven by the functional demands. We don't follow the rules or specific typologies of what a building must be or how it must function. We seek a simpler way of combining program and budget to create solutions that are inventive and specific to each project.

Our integrated design services include:
- Pre-design services: site and building evaluation, test-fit analysis, master planning, feasibility studies, and programming
- Design services: architecture, interior design, historic preservation and conservation, construction administration, post-occupancy evaluation, sustainability documentation (LEED, WELL), furniture, fixtures, and equipment coordination, 3D rendering, modeling, and virtual reality, signage, and wayfinding
