Family Law Mediation

In most situations, mediation can be more cost-effective and less contentious than resolving family law matters in court. Our partners, Colleen Condon and Lauren Edwards, are experienced, certified mediators in family court and work with parties to mediate their family law issues. Mediation allows the parties to control the outcome, rather than having a judge decide, and allows parents to create customized agreements addressing each parent's specific concerns and the particular needs of their family.

Mediation Process

Mediation is a process in which a neutral third party, the mediator, helps the parties to a dispute reach a mutually satisfactory agreement. The mediator does not make decisions for the parties, but rather facilitates communication and negotiation between them. Mediation is confidential, which means that the parties cannot use anything said during mediation as evidence in court.

Mediation has a number of benefits over traditional litigation. It is typically faster, less expensive, and less stressful than going to court. Mediation also allows the parties to have more control over the outcome of their dispute, as they are the ones making the decisions, rather than a judge.
