Born and raised in Port Isabel, Texas, Ms. Sosa attended the University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the student newspaper. After graduating, she attended South Texas College of Law in Houston and worked as a Border Prosecutor in Eagle Pass, Texas, and later became the Domestic Violence Unit Supervisor for the Cameron County District Attorney's Office, specializing in prosecuting violent crimes and protective orders for victims of sexual assault and family violence.
