With over 70 years of experience, we've worked to chronicle the stories of our area, preserving memories from local and regional history, genealogies, book restoration, and yearbooks. We're not just a bookbindery, we're also a publisher, providing digital and offset printing, as well as promotional products.
Our Story
Our story begins with the Chapman family, who operated the bookbindery for 65 years. H.V. "Homer" Chapman, Sr. learned bookbinding in Dallas and later managed the bookbinding department of Abilene Printing and Stationery. After serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II, Homer's son, H.V. "Chuck" Chapman Jr., helped open the business. The name H.V. Chapman & Sons stuck, even though the younger brothers didn't join the business.
Stan Chapman, Chuck's son, worked in the shop growing up and developed an interest in rebinding Bibles and other books. Stan learned rebinding from his grandfather and father and eventually bought the business from his father. Under Stan's leadership, the company expanded into publishing services, helping customers with design, typesetting, and print management of their books.
In 2012, Stan sold the business to longtime friend Tim de la Vega, who shared a similar vision for the company. Tim's family also had a printing background, and he brought a wealth of experience to the table. Under Tim's leadership, the company has continued to grow and expand its services.
