Where Proactive Guidance Meets Financial Success

The Dowdle Funeral Home is a family-owned and operated traditional funeral home that has been serving the people of Oswego and the surrounding communities since 1953. Founded by Edward J. "Bud" Dowdle, our funeral home has a long history of providing compassionate and respectful services to families in their time of need.

Our History

Bud Dowdle founded the funeral home in 1953, and his wife, Margaret Stone Dowdle, was an integral part of the business. Together, they worked tirelessly to build a reputation for excellence in funeral service. After Bud's passing in 1992, his sons, John and Adrian, took over the operation of the funeral home, ensuring that the family tradition continued. Today, the Dowdle Funeral Home is still family-owned and operated, with John and Adrian at the helm.
